    Couple of bucketfuls I hope!

No offense intended to any proud owners, I'm just a bit stunned by the prices they go for!

I must be the only one who doesn't appear to get on with the BF sound By that I mean I didn't really like the TK Imperial I once had. Just not me really
    Here's my scientific equation:

Middy amp (Tweed/Marshall) + Middy guitar (ES335/Les Paul) = too rocky for me
No mids amp (Blackface) + No mids guitar (strat/tele) = too thin and surfy for me (Nb. I'm not SRV)

Middy amp (Tweed/Marshall) + No mids guitar (strat/tele) = Balanced, versatile rig
No mids amp (Blackface) + Middy guitar (ES335/Les Paul) = Balanced, versatile rig

    Anyone agree?

I think I'm trying to say that you should try a 335/Les Paul with a Blackface amp, @hotpickups. Which you probably have already. So I'll shut up...
I think there's a lot of mileage in this. It's part of the reason why I'd only consider a BF style amp with a mid control.

I am struggling with this ... was vaguely moving in the direction of princeton stylee, and as usual started slavering over the US boutique ones, but they are starting to look crazily expensive to us hapless Britons, so my great mind is being drawn to UK builders like Rift. There really can't be any difference can there ... I mean they are all the same bits.

@mattacjones I am sitting here with the Columbia on 3, klon giving my Tele a boost and it just sounds immense, compared to the rift i tried there is NO comparison IMO..this is the best amp i have ever owned by some distance. but thats only my taste...the boutique USA stuff does turn out some truly brilliant gear, as do our guys.

In this instance i would strongly recommend you try this amp for yourself its remarkable

Having owned both at the same time I'd recommend you save up for the Louis Electric.

So out of the UK builders, who's making the best blackface style amps/copies?
