A lot of money for knackered speakers which is what I think makes these old amps sound good.

Not entirely. I wouldn't say it's not a factor, but if you hear an old amp with a new (properly broken-in) speaker it still sounds like an old amp.

I think one thing here is being overlooked. Some will pay the entry price just to own a piece of history. It's a very cool artefact to have around.

^ that's true - £6k doesn't get you much in really high end antiques or good art works...

How do I know you're not going to sell me a Choover?
    No - it is genuine.

I've replaced it with the ultimate vac - made by none other than Mr Terrence Morgan....

Just got a James Dyson Strat relic. Bit of a tone sucker.

Yes, but whose got the time for that?  Much easier just to spend £6500 on an amp with pre-broken in speakers.

It's also £135 cheaper than the new PRS John Mayer amp (opens can of worms).

Anyone want to buy my 1962, unearthed Hoover, that you can't get bags for any more?
The mains cable off that is worth a fortune to Trainwreck owners :).

    Wow.

    Flashback!
Not much of the gear, even less idea.

Did you remember that it needs to be connected in the same direction from the amp to the cab as from the wall to the vacuum cleaner too? Because it's been, you know, 'conditioned' by the current...

    :)

... which also makes me wonder if an air-conditioner cable would be better :D.

    This thread really sucks now.

Surely we need to get back to the original subject. It's all about the bass, man.
