What Arpeggio?

What's Hot
Hi,  I'm new to  guitar forums, so I'll kick this off and see how it goes...
What is the best (most useful, in general terms) arpeggio to start learning and why; Major,Minor, Seventh.?
I'm thinking 7th??
Cheers

Hi Barney. OK. Maj7th it is then. Now: Lower or Higher (from the 4th string) octave first? I know it may seem ridiculous, but I've spent a long time meandering through my leaning. Also, why do you suggest Major first?

You need to learn them all but start with Major 7th, then Minor 7th, then Dominant 7th's.
    Don't ignore triads either.

Start with major 7th because it is the arpeggio of the tonic (I chord).
Ideally learn arpeggios as part of harmonising the major scale- so in C major:

    I: C major 7
    ii: D minor 7
    iii: E minor 7
    IV: F Major 7
    V: G Dominant 7
    vi: A minor 7
    vii: B minor 7 b5.

Now transpose these through the cycle of 5th's.

Dominant 7s are my favourite sounding ones at the moment

Hi DesVagas. Starting from scratch on this, so no favourites for me yet!
