Temple Audio Pedalboards

Anyone used them? Expensive option when you have to buy sticky plates etc?

I have a duo 17, pretty happy with it, nice and light whilst still being sturdy. I just use pedalboard tape, only accessory I have splashed out on is the bracket that sits underneath to mount my PSU on. If you add in all the optional extras the price does mount up.

So there is a mounting bracket for a power supply then @john_r ; ? That was one of my concerns having to stick those plates on my voodoo labs 4x4 which would probably mean tearing all the graphics off if I wanted to change it

There is an extra bracket you can buy that is about 6cm wide, it fits underneath the board and runs from front to back has the same design as the board surface. In fact you can fit more than one of them if need be. It makes the board more rigid and saves mounting the PSU upside down, which is handy if you are using dual lock and the PSU is heavy. I have a CIOKS AC-10 and a klon buffer sitting on mine, keeps them off the main surface and can still see the led's through the holes in the board.

I was planning on adding the AC power module and getting a case later on, keep buying guitars instead . . .

Looks good. Expensive but I can see it working for me. Might have to wait a while but could be upgrading to one in the future. I'd be going for the duo 24 though with a coupe of modules added :)

I had one for a while, I liked the idea and the angle of the board was great.

Moving pedals around was easier than a PedalTrain too - one thing I didn't like was with very light home use some of the paint chipped off, I could have been unlucky, but it was a concern.

Overall a really good idea, and felt definitely a more elegant solution than the pedal train (but not as good as the custompedalboards case I now have - but big price difference!)

Not sure what the extra 4 ports module would ever be used for. Mounting an amp foot switch maybe and then connect to the amp using one of those maybe?

If anyone wants to move their duo 24 on I could be interested, well it's a long shot but I may as well ask

Damn just noticed that temple audio are bringing out a board module for a sum to mono port for stereo amps etc. I've just bought one of those from Bright Onion. Would've been handy if it was integrated into the board. If I ever feel extravagant again and buy a Temple board I may have to sell the Bright Onion one for the module. Always something isn't there :(

I've just reslised a design floor in these boards. If you put the power supply underneath to save board space one can't then put any pedals on top of the board where the power supply is directly underneath as you can't fix them to the board anymore. What's the point of that .... no point

Thats what the brackets are for, they fit under the board at the bottom almost like a second lower tier and you can mount the PSU on top of the bracket

@john_r But wouldn't that block the holes for the plates to fix / screw into for the pedals on top? The power supply would be pressed against the underside of the base if you can see what I mean ?

The 'bracket' ends up sitting on the floor so there is plenty of clearance at the back of the board, here is a pic, easier to show then explain

@john_r How is the power supply fixed to the bar? With a sticky plate? Also what is the power supply you are using? I'm not sure my Voodoo Lab 4x4 would fit under there?

Also, thinking about it, if you use the mounting plates the fixing bolts are in the middle of the plate so you could probably overlap a psu mounted underneath by having the bolt positioned between two plates fitted to the top.
In that pic you can see how easily the finish can strip off the surface.

This is my other concern @john_r ; i.e. tearing off decals :(

Ah, it is a Cioks AC10, there is about 4.5cm clearance from bracket to underside of board and the PSU is 3.5cm tall. The PSU has a handy mounting hole already drilled so I have just bolted it to the bracket, but you could use a plate.

I didn't go with the mounting plates in the end, mostly to save money!

If I was going to use the mounting plates I think I would remove the sticky stuff that comes with them and use dual lock instead, its stronger and could easily avoid the labels on the pedals. From what I remember reading the sticky pads are not that strong and only good for one use. Since the plates cost extra I just thought screw that and just used dual lock!

Yeah the Cioks are not as tall as the Voodoo Labs which I think are 4.5cm so quite a difference really. You've used the mounting polates for the pedals though haven't you @john_r ?

No just dual lock straight to the board.

Doesn't that defeat the reason for the design of the board @john_r or was it the modular system appealed to you?
