second thoughts, top looks too flat and those tuners look ridiculous.  the f-holes are broadly similar to some silvertone and harmony models, but unless its a friday afternoon special i don't think it is one

It was quite light and smallish, nothing written on the headstock but it did have a little circle red motif but I couldn't make it out.

I keep coming back to the Kaye Galaxie due to the smaller shape and flatter top.   I think that is what it was trying to be

I still think I a missing something obvious.

It has the same tuners except they don't have covers over the gears and the neck is not bolted on, more like an acoustic.

The chrome-plated control panel looks very like a Klira, Hopf or other more obscure German brand. I'm sure I've worked on a guitar with one just like it, but I can't remember exactly what…

I agree about the f-holes and the overall body shape looking more American though.

I think it's Japanese. That swoopy triangular metal style of control plate was used on semi-acoustics around '64-'65 by Guyatone, Ibanez, Zenon and probably others.

In fact, here's a Zenon with the exact same pickups.

And... I think that pickguard logo reads "Z" in a kind of star shape, so Zenon it is.

I'll take a wis or a wow, not fussy :)

I almost googled Japanese ones but didn't think it was quite odd enough... it's even got the same unusual features on the tailpiece  that extra bolt on the top was ruling out a lot of options

Big question guys, is it worth the 130 asking price? It's fairly rough and not very well made.
