on way in to pub for yesterdays gigging. it snapped, made an unpleasant bang on the floor. Fortunately it worked fine and apart from being even more inconvenient to carry i still like this amp. Tommorow il call laney and see if i can blag or buy a new handle. thinking about doing some wodwok and putting in side handles too. anyone done this?

You can get Laney parts from here ...

I replaced the handle on my VC15 - not the most robust construction. Thankfully, I replaced it before it had failed but the 'leather' was starting to come apart.

Thanks for the link @steamabacus. The side handle on my Laney GS112VE extn cab is still OK but looking a little worn. Might treat myself to a new handle!
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

I never trust any top handle and if can be supported underneath with other hand I always do that. For heavier amps then a cam buckle webbing strap is lashed round and held with the handle as a precaution.
