Ok, I bought a rear lens cap, does that count?

    I dislike the Sigma one.

Shot wide open & close to subject= shallow depth of field?

But on a wide angle, it's normally much harder to get the depth of field look from a wide angle due to the field of field and this is the world's only 20mm 1.4.

A whole extra stop of light too for me which is what i mainly got it for, i want that ambient light on the dance floor.

I'm just thinking where do I go from here.

    5D4 x 2
    20/1.4
    24/1.4
    35/1.4
    45/2.8 TSE
    50/1.4
    85/1.2
    100/2.8 macro IS
    135/2.0
    16-35/2.8
    24-70/2.8

    600 EX-RT x 4

also have a 2 bodies Fuji set up for travel with 23/35/56 mm lenses.

    Manfrotto 055 pro tripod
    Manfrotto monopod
some carbon fibre compact travel tripod
Lee filters with a graduate gradient and big stopper

Profoto octobox (I might get one more I guess?)

the only thing i would be interested in is the 14/1.8 but it has no release date or the 70/200 2.8 Mk2 just to complete it up to 200mm but I would never use it. Or the MP-E might be fun...or a Patzval lens?

Strewth @RaymondLin that's a hell of a lot of kit you've got there. :o I was going to say you're missing some long primes or zooms but sounds like you don't use them

  • To be fair you've got the kit to cover most eventualities, but you are missing one thing.

A big arse reflector/diffuser and someone to hold it! :D

I bought a sigma 70-200/2.8 for a specific theatre job that I had for a few years but that is now over so sold the lens this year.  The 135/2.0 is long enough for my needs and small enough to put in my coat pocket too.

Under that focal length I have pretty much all I need, and they are all now the current models, the 24/35 are mkii, the 50/1.4 is the sigma Art. The zooms are old but they are kept as spare in case I break a prime and need that focal length in a pinch.

    200mm 1.8 ;)
I looked into that, it's easier finding a 59 Les Paul.

Blimey.  I thought I was being extravagant buying a used Nikkor 50mm f1.4 for £150.....

Actually it's for my son who's doing a photography course at college.   His main subject is live music and has really struggled with the light levels and kit lens that came with his Nikon D5100, so I thought I'd give him half a chance with the Nikkor.
