Colour Printer/ Scanner / Copier recommendations

Ferchissakes!

My workflow is getting hampered by an HP All In One printer that throws a wobbly and crashes when scanning. Not ALL the time, but especially (and annoyingly) when you're a couple of pages into a multiple (say seven) page document. It drives me INSANE! so it has to go.....

Anyone have any good things to recommend? - doesn't need to be flashy. I have a laserjet mono printer that does the heavy lifting but printers seem to last 13 months and they're done!

  • Ooo I had a thread on this recently when I got a hp printer half off from rymans.

£35, prints wirelessly, I pay £2 per month for ink for up to 50 pages (poor value for just text, but I print photos so... :) ) and its been reliable so far (its new mind).

I'll dig it out. Set up was a bit of a pain as it's quite far from my homehub so struggled to connect, but once it managed it's been fine :)

I would recommend one from the Canon Pixma MG**** range which does Auto-Duplex Printing.

I have an older Canon Pixma MG6350 which has served me well for a good number of years. I originally used only Canon OEM chipped cartridges, but they are quite expensive. I switched to using cheaper third-party compatible cartridges - CLI-625/626 - without any problems.

Samsung have the older 325 printer only model but seen an all in one colour laser/scanner/copier in PC world for about £150.
Picked up third party toner for 48 quid (all four colours at Amazon recently)

  • I should say mine scans perfectly but isn't an automatic loader - you have to put the sheets to be scanned in one by one.

    Automatic duplex prints perfect though.
