Fx loop and pedals

Are say delay pedals ...i mean like Boss DD2 designed to work well in the loop of guitar amps or are the studio rack type ones better...? And the single pedals for the front of the amp ?... im really thinking of a MK 4 boogie

Boss delays for me aren't up to it IMO, they can't cope with the level, even the DD-20. That won't be all loops on all amps but, you need to understand the output of your Send to know what will and what will not work for you.
