Beautiful timber - the oil really does set it off well. I dont remember if you mentioned, but a pair of cream soapbar P90s would look stunning with that koa :)

Neck is back from Rothko & Frost :) - abalone signature glued in ready for sanding tomorrow.

I'll then round the fretboard edges and Ezeoil the neck.

    Thanks @TheMarlin  :)

Logo sanded flush this morning, also sanded the rest of the neck in preparation for oiling this afternoon. Fretboard edges to be rounded next.

Hell fire. I was keeping an open mind on this one and I'm glad I did, it looks wonderful. Love the abalone on the big fat CBS peghead.

    Some amazing work.

I've since de-nibbed and applied a second coat of oil, the neck is hanging up, will apply one one coat tonight, then the last one tomorrow, I'll then leave it for a week before waxing.

Neck now waxed, will fit the tuners and string tree at some point this weekend, followed by a fret level. Just need to wait for the pickups to get this built :D

    That's looking stunning @PVO_Dave :-)
    What pickups have you ordered?
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.
My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

    Went for Mojos this time

    P90 underwound with Alinco 5
    "Vintage" PAF with Alinco 4

Ordered on the first of May, so they'll either be at work waiting for me (I had a week off) or be dispatched any time now :)

    This afternoon, I levelled and dressed the frets, bolted the neck on and fitted the string tree;

I have an an issue that I don't know how to fix, advice appreciated - @WezV  @FelineGuitars @impmann  maybe?

The high e buzzes / drones when not fretted, it doesn't look to me that it's catching on the first fret (videos below) I bumped the action right up and it did the same. Only seems to start once the string is under proper tension. Not my usual brand of strings (tried the 'free' boomers I got with some Bareknuckle pickups), tried the spare e just in case, did the same.

I havent adjusted the nut yet, so doesn't look too low?

What can can I check next?

You say it only buzzes with an open high-E, does it do the same with the B fretted on the 5th? Could it be a loose truss-rod?

Check the roller on the Schaller bridge, I've seen a few with terrible engineering tolerances and they happily rattle in sympathy with the string

Hi Adam (@Kalimna) I don't think it's the frequency of the note, as it happens before it's at pitch, tried 5th on the B just-in-case, no issues there.

Good thought @sweepy just tried to wedge a very small alen key next to the roller, made no difference, unless there is something specific I need to try?
