Can anyone tell me what this scale is called?

Hi there, this is my very first post on this forum so please feel free to move it to the most relevant section if it's not already.

I enjoy playing psychedelic sounding licks and I've found myself using the following scale a lot with as shown below:

E|-----------------------------------3--7--
B|-----------------------------3--6--------
G|-----------------------4--5--------------
D|-----------------3--5--------------------
A|--------2--3--5--------------------------
E|--1--3-----------------------------------

Does anyone know if it has a specific name? Would like to discover new music based upon the scale.

Thanks!

F Major I *think* but it's using tones outside of the major scale. I'm sure someone with more theory knowledge can clear that up though.

I would look at it as F lydian

I call it G dominant pentatonic - G minor pentatonic G Bb C D F with every Bb minor 3rd replaced with a B natural major 3rd. Intro to Venus Isle by Eric Johnson uses it in that key, and I believe Jeff Beck is a practitioner although I can't quote you any specific examples.

I call it G mixolydian without the 2nd or 6th notes

It all depends on where you want the home key. It could also be F lydian without the 3rd and 7th notes, but I just imagined it played over a G chord.

No no. Dave has a flattened 16th, that's a George that is.

    Beautiful scale btw OP

Brilliant answers guys! My music theory is awful so I've never heard of most of these scales until now, so thanks for helping me learn a bit more :) Good example bigjon, Venus Isle is exactly what I'm talking about. I've also found it's used in songs like the fragile by NIN and island walking by Tame Impala

Here's one for you: Steve Vai's freak show excess. The sitar intro and then the very first ascending scale on lead guitar.

It's a G7sus pentatonic scale - Tim Miller uses this quite a bit.
