I was thinking about getting a few of these to install onto my soon to be incoming Temple Audio board:-

Trouble is it says soldering required So what else do I need to buy to solder onto the other end inside the Temple Board for me to plug a jack into – which then goes to my first pedal etc?

God know why they couldn’t just make a single module for this action

You could buy a patch lead, cut one end off and solder the cable to this new connector.

Yeah I did think of that @Sporky ;but just seems a shame and a bit lame IMO that one pays for a nice tidy board but inside the board they'll be an exposed soldering i.e. the connector and patch cable. I was hoping they'll be some kind of end cap on the other side of that connector etc

That's a professional grade connector. It doesn't get better than that.

It's inside the board. You'll never see it.

Just worrying about it being pulled or breaking a solder joint somehow without an end cap on

Forgot to ask @Sporky can I use any left over Lava Tightrope cable I have to solder onto? I ask because it's solder less cable and thought it maybe different. I am a novice guys ok

I'm about to put these on a pedalboard I'm building (first attempt) and I'm doing exactly as @Sporky said, I'm going to cut on end of a patch lead, solder it on and heat shrink around it so it looks nice and neat. That way the lead will only need to be as long as required and there for tidier. I've also put in an iec socket to deal with power.

Edit: you can buy solder less sockets but they're £11 each, and I want 4 of then so sod that.

Ok great. Now this question is for the more techy maybe I have a stereo sum to mon box I had made for my stereo setup etc. This will go under the board and its outports will go into two of these 1/4 connectors. Is there anything I should know when soldering the cables together? Like, do the output patch cables have to TRS and soldered that way i.e. stereo etc. I hope I'm making sense. Or doesn't it matter at that last output stage ?

I think the one in the original post is just the black version, for which Neutrik do tend to charge a bit more.

Ah, ok. I asked because I picked up what I was led to believe was a Neutrik guitar cable (£9.99) in Maplins some time ago and it turned out to be a Chinese copy of a SPEAKER jack lead!

Messrs Neutrik were VERY pleased to be told and sent me a 5mtr h'duty cable fitted with one of their Silentplugs!

And! OP will soon know if it is a rip off when he comes to solder it. If crap the plastic connector matrix will melt!

I had this with some Maplin XLRs...They could not give a ***t!

Ok I'm going to buy a few of those Neutric connectors. Where can anyone recommend me to go to that they've used for a legit neutric connector etc ?
