Anyone want to take a punt on a price? I need to weigh up whether I'm going to have to sell one or two kidneys to get my hands on one...

    Gibson's website will quote about $6000, and in a year's time it'll be in plenty of shops for closer to £1500.

    That's if their current pricing strategy is anything to go by.

  • I'm thinking it'll be around £2.3k on the street, but if it's under £2k then I'll be sorely tempted to jump on one!

    That bad huh? That's a shame, I was hoping they were of Epiphone quality at least - I still don't know why Gibson haven't done an Epi version yet! :(

    *edit* Fuck it, I've just seen that they do custom versions - dropping them a line for high-res pics, as long as the wood selection is alright, and the finish isn't terrible then I'm happy to sort the rest out later if needed (and if the price is right)! ;)

    What's that, @Loobs?

    Do let me know how you get on with that dodgy looking 335 replica site - maybe now is the time to confess that I've always had a filthy crush on the brown/cream Tom Delonge 335 and always wish they made one with proper pickups....

    The Trini is a nice variant, but that blue belongs on no Gibson.

    The nut width would likely put me off them! Same with most mid-late 60s Gibsons. :(

    @Lixarto - there's been a bazillion Pelham blue Gibsons!

    Yes - all of them hideous :)

    It's a Fender colour and always will be.

    That's a 70s Walnut ES335. Very cute.

    It's not the same as lake placid blue or ice blue metallic, amateur. ;)

  • If had an email off Gibson today saying that it's not an official model yet and they can't pass on any on any info, on or off the record. Odd considering that the fella from Gibson (Voltz?) says on the YouTube video that it was being released at the end of January.

    Lake Placid and Pelham Blue were late 50's Cadillac colours originally  ... so they are closely related, other than being blue ...  :P

    Blue ice was a mid 60's Ford colour and therefore clearly a cheap pretender ... and a CBS colour ... phaa  ...    :-S

  • Hey @markGAK, any chance of a bit of insider info on when the Trini Lopez's will be available?  ;)
