FFS Ian give it more time fella. You could keep it for another 6 months and still sell it for the price you will get today. I've had mine for 4 months and I'm still finding astonishingly good tones out of it I didn't know were there. It won't work with every pedal neither, but get an overdrive to suit and it will blow your mind at any volume. I was like you at first - I couldn't see the wood for the trees, but now I've got the hang of the 2 volume controls and the pots on the guitar....my oh my oh my!

I've been to the Isle of Skye when the weather was grim and I couldn't wait to get home....but when I returned some years later in glorious sunshine I thought I was in heaven, I really did.
Give it time and it will blossom......

So @Acxeal, are you saying the tone of a J20 is weather-dependent? :-)

When I say wrong, I don't mean faulty. I know it's not faulty. I mean what is wrong with it for him. Why is it not working for him.
He has explained that above now, so no need to get your knickers in a twist.
From what I am told, its hard not to like one of these.

A couple of things I'd suggest.  The amp will sound better once the speaker has properly broken in.  Also, even though it may only be a 20 watt amp, you do have to play quite loud to really get it to break up properly IMO.

Also, something I only recently discovered after having mine for 3 years now and gigging it 3 times per week...  if you plug into just the bright channel and set volume to around 3 for a clean tone, turn the volume up to 11 ish on normal channel and it will scoop the mids a bit and get you closer to a blackface type of clean tone!
cant believe I didn't know this sooner!

I just opened a thread yesterday looking for a J20.
As you, I have never tried one but bilieve it would give me the tone I am looking for.

First, would you send it to France?

Second, are you really sure you won't accept any kind of deal? pedals, guitars?

And last, is it a firm firm price?
