    Lovely!

Tele guitar-body basses look weird to me, but that hits the spot. Sort of a heavily-modded Jap crap vibe.

How does it sound?  I like the idea of a short scale bass, but have never played one.  But for somebody used to regular 6 string guitars, I imagine it would be an easier transition?

Does it sound as full as a longer scale bass do you think?

The shorter scale gives it a softer attack-  the pickup's been wound to 5.7k or 8.5k  ( coil tapped)  to keep the bottom end from muddying. Quite a mellow(?) tone, possibly suit 60's style of playing with fingers or pick/dampened. Playing wise, definitely has the feel of a six stringer? I love it.

I like that, although at first it seems like an optical illusion!

It's gorgeous. I'd prefer a maple fretboard though.

  • Nice. That Raygun fella does good work. I've got one of his too & it's great. I much prefer the ones where he refinishes a guitar completely rather than just roughs em up a bit.
