But it's got a screen dump of the Gibson website so it must be real!

Does this mean that you are looking for a new donor guitar for the Fender Floating Vibrato project?

Which is odd from a mass production company...

Ha, no strings or tuning pegs, so you've no opportunity to hear what it sounds like when you pitch up for a demo.

And why can't the seller be bothered to get the tuners fitted and restrung, so to sell it as a playable guitar? Because maybe it isn't playable and sounds like an Ancelotti and Anastacia duet. Lazy.

You'd still be able to hear the sustain I imagine.

At least, the Epiphone truss rod cover plate is genuine.

The only Gibson humbucking pickup that I have ever seen with twelve exposed non-adjustable slug polepieces is one I constructed myself from the working halves of an abused 498T/490R pair.

I've got cork tiles in my bathroom that look almost identical to the top on that.

I cannot quite decide whether that top is a veneer or a photograph of a veneer - like the Fender Fotoflame series of the Nineties.

So many things on that guitar are incorrect for an American-made Les Paul. Not even the worst Norlin era tops exhibit a top carve as shallow as that thing.

The seller now has an Epiphone SG up - seems alright.

Amazed he didn't just go all out with some waffle about being hand crafted at Szechuan's famed 'Gibson' factory.

The SG looks straight but the description is slightly erroneous. The neck/Rhythm position pickup is not Gibson USA. It is a standard Epiphone design - very probably their interpretation of the '57 Classic.

At the starting price, the listing could be regarded as a pre-owned (but unidentified) Duncan humbucker with a free Epiphone guitar attached.
