The way the labels on this Hopf Telstar are upside-down and orientated toward the player.

Do you:
A ) Love that!
B ) Hate that!

Not looking at the controls makes you far cooler when you successfully manipulate them.

It would seem more logical the way they're presently laid out.

so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

    A.

From someone who on the rare occasions he uses his Ricky 4001-alike has to squint at the controls to work out if he's got the right one.

The M/R switch is labelled sideways. I like that one.

    A + B

A ) If you're going to label the controls (and the 3-way toggle looks like you'd find the labels helpful) then that's the way to do it but
B ) they then go and blow it by having the brand name oriented the other way for the audience. One way or the other.

Can we guess what M or R stand for? One of mine has a B for Banjo and SH for 'shearing'.

    Rhythm and ...  Melody?

I love the copious use of full stops. :)

If you are going to be seen playing that hideous guitar, the controls labelling hardly counts.

Cooler than penguins plums that guitar - and responsible for some of the sounds on one of my fave Wilco tracks.

It's actually my initials, which is probably clouding my judgement. But in this case I'm going to guess it's "mayday" and "refrigerator".

C - they should not be labelled at all.

But to properly answer your question, B - I hate it. It would look better if it was the same way up as the main logo on the guitar. (Note I assume the headstock is that way too.)

    A. *Everything* is perfect about it - apart from the body finish. Not red, or sparkly. Needs to be one or the other, or preferably both.

Yes I agree, otherwise you could end up turning the controls up when you want them to turn down

Controls shouldn't distract from the playing, it needs to be intuitive and preferably a less is more scenario.
