Sold - Gibson J185 (2002)

Here for sale is my beautiful J185 from 2002 with hard case and a Hercules stand. Smaller than a SJ200, this guitar is a lovely, resonant, bold and flamey beast. It's been well looked after and is currently strung with .13s. The guitar was set up by luthier Howard Smith and has a low action for both rhythm and lead. It has a couple of marks on the belly below the bridge, but they're pretty negligible. No breaks, no repairs in its 15 years. Comes with all the accoutrements including humidifier and original paperwork. I paid £1695 for this, so it'd be good to see that back. To be honest, I think it's worth it. I would really rather not post this, and I welcome collection or can drive somewhere not too far away to hand over (I'm based in LE15). Sometimes I'm in London or Birmingham. Any questions, please do ask. Better it sells here over eBay and Gumtree. Thanks.

    That's nice - I do like a J185
    Any issues with the crack from the screw hole from the d string tuner - has that been glued or fixed?
    Does it have an under saddle pickup or is it purely acoustic?

    Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.

    @felineguitars Cor, you must have some eyes on you. I can't see a crack, but will check when I get home. Could be scuffing. If I see anything I'll take a close up photo. No pickup. Just purely acoustic. Cheers.

    It runs from the fixing screw on the rear directly to the top of the headstock. It's caused by when the wood of the neck/headstock shrinks the pressure around the screw forces the wood to split along the grain line.
    Only asking as I'm interested in the guitar (not that I need another  :/  )

    @FelineGuitars ;

    Yes, I see now. To my knowledge it has never been repaired or glued. It's just there. Never noticed it before!

    Here's some other photos of the headstock if they help.  ;)
