Ampeg Diamond Blue series J-20 JET valve amplifier. Stunning and unusual retro style tube amp hand wired point-to-point by Ampeg. No circuit boards here.

Don't let the size fool you, this thing is loud! The circuit is based closely on the brown face era fender deluxe, but modded to give you plenty of headroom up to about 12 o clock on the volume knob. I tended to use this clean and it rarely got turned up past 10/11 o clock at small/medium size gigs even when not mic'ed. From 12 onwards or with a boost/OD into it you get a beautiful, responsive, bluesy compression/breakup and turn it up to full (only done this once or twice because it is DEAFENING) you get full on crunch. Think Jimmy Page on Led Zep 1, that was all done with cranked small amps and sounds enormous. Takes pedals beautifully. No reverb as it's a very simple design with only volume and tone (which also seems to control gain somewhat) and 'bias vary' (old school fender style) tremolo, controlled by the speed and intensity knobs and included footswitch.

2 6v6s in the back 
fully valve rectified (5ar4) 
comes with original manual and foot switch but no box 

Minor cosmetic wear and tear but in good working order. Tubes are a couple of years old but it has seen very little use over this time, hence the sale. A cracking, slightly different amp at a bargain price.

I remember this one! I still have one myself and can't see myself ever selling it. They just sound so good. Loads of volume, and if you ever get the chance to crank it to the max it sounds spectacular, but it takes pedals fantastically well too.

Those are cool amps, not really close to the old ampegs, but more like a fender brownface deluxe circuit (6G3). Really cool amp for a good price, with decent construction and components.

Yeah I think so!  they are indeed awesome. I've been playing around with modellers a fair bit but I gigged mine a few months ago and remembered just how great it is.
