    So cool. I've always fancied butchering a tape recorder to make a tape delay myself but I can see many frustrations with that

    I made something similar in my teens from a massive Ferrograph tape deck.
    Sounded OK but not very practical for a pedalboard. Not that pedalboards existed in those days.

    All props to the guy but. lot of work! One problem is you need a 3 head cassette deck and they are rare and only found in high end, expensive machines. I did not watch everything but did he mess with the motor? The tiny hole in the motor case, right of screen is a speed control pot. You could wire that out and have external control.
