SOLD! Zakk Wylde BFG Replica - As a whole or parts if required
This started out a long time ago as one of the Harley Benton LP kits. You'll notice it looks more like a 'real' LP than the kit they are offering currently, I think a stern letter may have been written at some point!
It's been finished with the black on natural bullseye reversed (plain stripe outermost) as per the BFG with a clear coat over the top. The back has been stained to look like the mahogany. The neck has been clear coated and sanded back for a satin finish and feels really smooth when playing.
The finish hasn't faired that well if I am being honest. It has cracked up a bit in places. although some people call this 'relicing'... There is also a bit of buckle rash on the back proving it has been used and it is a usable guitar!
All of the Harley Benton innards were discarded almost immediately and replaced with EMG 81/85 with the matching solderless pots. All the hardware was upgraded via Axetec including a set of really good black locking tuners. The volume and tone knobs have been replaced with black speed knobs as per the BFG.
I put a fair few hours into this a couple of summers ago, but it just isn't my thing anymore. I'm not getting on with the EMGs and just don't have the time or space to refinish and put some different pick ups in it.
This would make a great project guitar for someone to carry on modding/refinish to give them something they want at a much cheaper price than the real deal which was my intention with it originally. That said, it is still a very usable and playable guitar. It was recently set up by Andy Bunn in Stratford, Warks who said it was one of the better kit guitars he had seen.
The only real issues are a couple of chips out of the clear coat on the top, small dent to back, and a crackling volume pot which I'm sure ifsjust dust from lack of playing.
I'm asking £170 for it but feel free to throw sensible offers at me. The pick up set retails around £140, the tuners were £40 , other hardware around £30 and the kit around £90 originally so a fair price I think. I'll throw in a tatty padded soft case too. Would rather not post due to a lack of a hard case or anything else to post it in really. I'm based in Leamington, Warks.
EDIT - Due to a possible 'counterfeit' issue, I've had to remove the logos from the headstock. In my haste to get this back listed again, I also managed to snap a string...

Also seem to have come down a fair bit in RRP since I got them making my price a bit unreasonable. Yours for £18 PPG posted.
If any one does want to take it as a whole, I've got some volume/tone knobs lying around that I can pop on if needs be.
