First gig with the PodHD 500X

...was interesting. It was just a local village fete thing in a tent...un-mic'd. I ran the Pod straight into the fx return of an Orange TH-30 into a Marshall 1936v.

It did the job and for the most part sounded fine but the bass got a bit woofy at volume. I had probably set it up with far too much bass...which sounds good at low volume in the house but was maybe overkill at volume.

I got good comments on the sound but someone did say it looked like I was having to tap-dance a lot. I basically had it set up as a virtual pedalboard rather than patches. And I was using the expression pedal to adjust gain levels, which is super flexible buy does require a lot of on-the-fly tweakery.

I'm using mine solely with a frfr monitor, using patches though. Some of my patches have two amps with fx blocks alternating on a footswitch.

Very versatile, have toured Malta and Scotland with it. 

Not buying a helix just yet.
