No it'd have had to be bride for New Geisha Day (NGD) to work Phil. I think the Samurai would have had a dim view of ladyboys. Though my Japanese history is vague to say the least! (And yes, I'm aware Geisha's weren't/aren't for marrying before it's pointed out!).
