    Looking good so far.  Is that Chinese neck flamed all the way down?

    I love blocks and binding

    Yes it is flamed all the way down. Except for the poly finish its a really nice neck.

    Looks great - I can recommend the Staytrem jazzmaster bridge.  I have one for my J Mascis Squier. (I have the bass one on my Bass VI),  I also got the Mojotone 59 Jazzmaster pickups for it.

    Lovely neck - how much was it (if you don't mind me asking)?

    I don't mind you asking! It was quite cheap - about £70 from an Austrian eBay seller. I don't remember exactly the price.

    I'd have prefer to get an unfinished neck or a nitro one. But the bound block inlay necks are a little bit more rare. I didn't fancy waiting for one to come up.

    Made a JM myself a few years ago. Good luck with the build. Get the staytrem bridge, you will be glad you did. Marc at Mojo Pickups made the complete wiring harness and pickups. Sounds great.

    Work in progress:

    * NOS 60s witchhat knobs
    * WD pickup covers - which are slightly the wrong size
    * Cheapest 'tortoiseshell' scratchplate I could find on eBay - actually perfectly ok
    * 500k CTS pots
    * 22nF metal film capacitor
    * switchcraft jack
    * switchcraft switch

    next will be fitting the bridge which I'm a bit anxious about

    Don't know what pickups you'll be using, but Jazzmasters use 1m pots.  It's to get more jangle out of them.  Some pickup makers might wind for 500k, so that's why I asked about the pickups.  I'm using 500k for the tone pots in both circuits, but had to get Alpha mini pots for the rhythm controls.

    The pickups will be a Kent Armstrong Stealth 90 in the bridge and a Fender USA '62 reissue in the neck.

    I won't fit the rhythm circuit to this.

    Fitted the bridge last night - a TonePros TOM. Took it slowly, it went pretty well.

    The TOM is for a 12" radius and the neck is 9.5" so the outer strings are noticeably higher. I may file the saddles. Undecided about that yet.

    Looks great! I'm tempted to do a surf green/tort JM. Lovely

     The final touch is a buzz-stop. Yes it does make a difference with a tune-o-matic.

    Kind of an unusual arrangement there with the hardtail plate.
