It's a great piece of kit. It sounds superb and is really easy to carry around, which is a big bonus for me as I have a bad back exacerbated, in part, by lugging around heavy valve amps all these years. I'm only selling it because I'm now playing bass and need to buy a bass of my own.

  • Excellent little amp - in fact, I believe you got it from me :)

To anyone considering this...yes, it really does do everything it says on the tin, and it really is that light. If I could afford it, I'd buy it back in a heartbeat; I can't recommend it any higher than that (I'm actually getting seller's remorse now...).

What's the EQ like on the lead channels? From the video it seems to be a bit of metal monster, but it is Chapman demo'ing it after all...

I like the whole satriani-esque lead tone - smooth with plenty of mids; but with a shit load of gain to boot if I need it.... This looks fucking awesome; just worried the Lead channels might be a bit too modern :(

The EQ on the lead channel is really versatile and there is plenty of gain on tap - more than I ever needed and I was playing QOTSA, Stooges and Sabbath.

Now this seems to be ticking a few boxes for me. Maybe a dumb question but does it always need a cab when switched on or can it be used totally silently?   Also is the footswitch large? Can a single button bog standard footswitch be linked and work?

    Cheers.

I've never used it that way but the preamp setting should allow you to run it without a load and take a line out using the 'rec out'. The footswitch isn't big - just two switches: one to go between the clean and dirty channels and the other to turn the effects loop on or off. I really don't know whether a single button footswitch would work or not. Unfortunately, I don't have one to try.

  • I tried the preamp mode - yes, it does work without a load attached, and it works brilliantly direct into a recording interface if you use an impulse loader.

I think I tried it with a single mono footswitch and it changed the channels rather than the loop. It's been quite a while, though, and it might have been another amp. It wouldn't be a difficult job to put a stereo jack on the end of a normal guitar lead and wire it right, though.

Thanks for that - I'm glad you experimented more than I have. I just run it through an old Marshall 412!
