"My Tech" - he's not "yours"

Neither is your GP but it's not weird to say "my doctor."
I say I'm going to "the doctor" not "my doctor".

    Hey ho.
    If you say so!

    Wang bar.
Agreed. But I hate tremolo arm even more because it's the wrong term.
    It's not a competition.

Tremolo in place of vibrato. (Admittedly, in use, the vintage Fender fulcrum design does accidentally introduce a change of volume as well as pitch.)

Coil tap in place of coil split.
    Be seeing you.

"Player Grade" when describing a ludicrously valued vintage guitar, as if anything else is beneath the contempt of an actual player.

"Catnip for rich bastards" - I fixed it ;)
That's not what player grade means - it refers to something old but not original - new pickups, or a refin or whatever, so you can still play it without risking a single ding costing you 2k...
I've never seen it next to a guitar even remotely reasonably priced, so I must have sort of assumed it meant "pricey".

Thanks @stickyfiddle never knew it "sorta" means the opposite!  Cheap enough to play instead of whatever the heck people do with the even more expensive ones!
We have to be so very careful, what we believe in...

Coil tap in place of coil split.
Wasn't there a thread recently talking explaining how the two terms relate to different things? Or do you mean that you object to people being ignorant of the difference and so using the wrong term?

I could live with it a little easier if it were an abbreviation but most times it isn't. It's some seemingly clever little nickname they've used for it.
Even if it were written "P/Ups"...or "P-Ups" then it would be easier to take but just blatantly calling them "Pups" is just WRONG!

It's along the same lines as another one I've just thought of which actually makes me shudder among other things....

The slang term for a British Pound is "QUID"...........NOT SQUID!!!!!

You're right and the older I get the worse it gets.
Worse than that is the TV programme 'Grumpy Old Men' is one of my favourite shows of all time. I even shout at the TV when it's on ..."YES !! He's Right !!"........etc.

Considering that many think me the biggest grump on the forum, I'm not actually that bothered by anything thus far mentioned.

The one thing that riles me a tad is the mention of 'lawsuit' guitars, as if it magically makes them worth more or something.
