We bought a bolt on Epi Junior, they were like 30 quid in Guitar Centre second hand. Took the neck off, guitar in suitcase to come home. Of course you could go posher but we just wanted something to play.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Have a month off and listen to loads of music.  You'll be gagging for it when you come home.

  • I did option 2! Was very easy and Vince Gill, Guthrie Trapp, Paul Franklin, Joey Landreth and JD Simo all gave me nice autographs!

    Craigslist is the answer...

You don't need any of that.

Buy a second hand guitar and bring it back openly and legally.

You are allowed £390 in value to bring back which is plenty to get a something decent in the US.

    Get a receipt.

I have traveled with a short scale/bolt on neck guitar disassembled in my suitcase when flying commercial in the past.  I just loosened the strings and wrapped the neck in clothing.  underdogs Mustang suggestion would work well.  Ask around about local pawn shops, I don't know about Orlando but other American cities I've been to have pawn shops with lots of guitars, and guns!?!
