Or should I buy a HT5H and an RJM amp switch gizmo??

Following on from some recent thread I am toying with the idea of messing about with my Line 6 HD500X in 4CM...

My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

    It can be a bit of a rabbit hole to go down due to latency.

    Some amps drop out momentarily- it might only be 20ms or so but you notice it and it sucks when it does.

    That's pretty bad, most Midi instruments I've come across have a maximum latency of ~8 ms

    @octatonic

    is that specific with the NUX or with this premise in general?? the voodoo labs one looks similar but 5 times the price..

    I'm guessing I need to make sure the NUX switching capability would be compatible with the HT5H or whatever..

    The NUX has no noticeable latency - you can also configure the polarity and set to latched/unlatched so it will work with anything - great little units.  The outs are stereo(TRS) though so you may have to buy some insert leads

    Yep, it's a fast little unit, I've used it tonseitch my Engl and Mesa, both needed stereo jacks so was plug and play, but an insert cable would do the trick, they can be had for a couple of quid, cheap and cheerful as it's not carrying any audio.

    @bloodandtears ;
    when you say small head? Do you mean power or size?

    The Evh 5150 iii 50w has midi switching.

    If it had power scaling in the Head version I'd be half tempted except the BIG price lol

    @John_A ; @professorben  ; did either of you Nux users implement it with a momentary switching amp?? I read there are issues with such... and it's good with latching only...

    THe HT5 being momentary of course.. typical...

    There are two settings for the momentary - short and long (they really have thought of everything) used it with an AMT stonehead that apparently has issues with some external switchers and on the 'long' setting it worked great
