How about a nice... er... I dunno, Gretsch Black Falcon ? ;)
Says the man with one in the classifieds.

I do like the black one, but there is something classic about a White Falcon.

I have a Songwriter Deluxe which I really like, suits my songwriting style as well..
    Golf clubs? =)
You wouldn't suggest that if you saw me try to hit a golf ball ;)
You obviously need new clubs then

Buy a nice 12 string acoustic. Hours of fun.
Hours of fun restringing the fuckers

Don't be so cynical, they sound gorgeous. String them with Elixir Nanowebs and they'll be good for months.

I have had a twelve string in the past, and as a mandolin player as well the restringing doesn't put me off.

Now a 12 string electric.. hmmmm

I tried golf once - the only 2 good balls I hit all day is when I stood on the rake in the bunker

:o Hmm....save it until something awesome comes along! I have a list of about £2k worth of pedals I'm trying to justify

After careful consideration I think I need a Telecaster.

TBH I feel a bit dirty, but after the Strat opened my eyes to the Fender way...

In particular I think I need a proper beaten up dog eared well used workhorse of a Tele. None of that shiny new stuff, which is of course just wrong for a tele.

Maybe a beaten up old US standard, or a road worn MIM, or a partscaster from old bits. I might even upgrade it to an Esquire with a quite obscenely dirty bridge pickup and ditch that neck pickup nonsense as well ;)

Either way, I reckon I could do that and get a Yam DXR 10 with the cash.

    Hmmm...

Of course you need a Telecaster, there can be no doubt about it. Everyone needs a Telecaster. Telecasters turn their owners into very happy human beings. If you are already very happy, then a Telecaster will take you a big leap further towards Buddahship.  :3

I'm veering towards old bits and pieces. Sorta like a junk-box tele, or a "discardocaster"....

Discardocaster! =) That's a good idea. That approach will result in very good karma. In excellent karma. Because, er, no trees needed to die for your Tellie. B) Build yourself a Karmacaster...  ;) I had better catch some sleep now!  :#
