AMT P2 pedal or R2 pedal?

After all that thinking about the Blackstar HT-Metal pedal....

I've now been listening to the AMT pedals.

The "2" series is particularly awesome as it has 3 outputs 1 for use as a stompbox with a bypass, and the other 2 with a clean sound and speaker emulation for use into an FX return or PA  - and all 3 can be run at once.

the P2 is a 5150, and the R2 is a Dual Rec.

I like them both, but I can only afford 1!

Someone make a decision for me!!!

The p2 every time

There is a demo comparing the p2 into a 5150 power amp and the actual preamp, and it's really dead on.

Just as an extra consideration that I've recently discovered and sounds incredible, the amp tweaker tight metal. Designed by the guy who designed the lead channel of the evh amps iirc.

I have decided on the R2.

Mainly because I have an EVH 5150iii.

But no doubt I'll get a P2 at some point as well.

Good thinking - although it's based on the 6505, the 5150 and 6505/6505+/5153 all have identical lead channels as far as I know.  EVH wouldn't let them touch it.  

It will make a great backup amp though.

I really like the 5150iii - but I'm looking to put together a super versatile cover-band pedal board for use with my Suhr Badger 30

So at the moment I'm planning on the R-2 for mental gain; a Zoom hyperlead for mid gain; and either a Dano Transparent drive or my KOT clone for slightly gritty. And of course the awesome tone of the amp itself.

I have 2 Zoom Hyper leads.

And 2 Zoom Tri-Metals.

and 1 Zoom Power Drive.

Alas - the Ultra Fuzz eludes me. 1 day I shall have the set!

I have a half used tube of hand cream, an ultex pick (used) and a nail file I'll be happy to trade for it.

It's a great pedal, it just doesn't suit me as much as the C2 I already had. Also, I have GAS for a Jettenuator...

My R-2 arrived this morning as well. Plugged it in for a 5 minute try out - OMG!

It's bang on the money! Really authentic Dual Rec sound- I've owned a couple of Recs over the years and this is definitely the closest pedal I've found.

I might need to collect all the Legend 2 series at this rate...

I actually really miss the clean sound the most. Not sure if anyone else ever agrees with me on that one.

you have to be quick round here. I only got this BigSky today as I'm off with the kids half term. I'd have been bloody livid if i'd missed it, was messaging at traffic lights........
