this is also true… lol..
the gain blocks in front of each amp to turn it up and down
the amp controls themselves (decrease the gain while increasing the master or channel volumes) the mix on a split block
There should be enough in all that to waste a few hours of your time
thanks looooodz
that's exactly what I've done - a copy of something I do in the Axe-FX
also a pan block after amp1 because:
riff: panned left to sound in conjunction with amp2: panned right
solo: amp1 pans center
it does everything I need it to..
the tone is ok.. it's not blowing me away but I reckon it's not a million miles from where it needs to be
so I think it can get in the right general area
feel wise though the hi-gain tones are not compressed enough
it just don't feel particularly smooth to play..
sounds hi-gain, feels mid-gain
just tried to build my 'morph to pad' preset and run out of horsepower before I got close to it..
which is a shame…
Q [cos I've not tried this yet] can ambient tails spill-over between presets???
the Helix is a really nice unit to configure.. really easy and intuitive
and that sense I really like it..
in every other sense
- tone
- feel
- DSP power
- flexibility [the chains]
it's "almost but not quite"
however… I'll continue to noodle with it to see if I can find another way..
after all I'm still rather new to this unit..
now for plan C lol..
My rig is basically Diezel D-Moll + Helix in 4-cable-method. I'm loving the tones right now!!!
Must admit, I couldn't disagree more though, I think the feel on some of these modellers is fantastic.

I'm a complete compression junkie so I've got them on everything so I dont have that issue. But then again I'm not pushing the DSP limits either.

They can tighten things up quite a bit in high gain use

Both paths are pretty much maxed out here though. If I got rid of an amp, I could have more effects.
