Sick As A Chip

What's Hot
longjawlongjaw Frets: 423

So after what seems like a lifetime (but is actually around 3 months) I was finally in the position to buy an Eastwood Classic 6 over the internet (doesn't appear to be any stockist of the brand in NE of England).

So glad I made a final check on the spec before pulling the trigger though as the model only has 20 frets?!??

Can't believe in this day and age a company would build a modern, set-neck electric guitar with anything other than 22 frets.

Looks like it's going to have to be a Peerless or Gretsch Electromatic for me then - which are both more expensive and as rare as hens teeth in left handed! :(

  • Regardless of what the web spec says it's got 22 in every pic I can find of it.

Hmmm - do you know I'd never even thought to count them in the photos!

Think I'll give the shop a ring when I get a minute to confirm - thanks for that chaps.

You can reach them even on a Les Paul, it just makes it more of an effort and so reduces the tendency to unnecessary widdle :).

But it looks like a Gretsch, and you don't play a Gretsch above the 12th 7th 5th 3rd fret anyway, so it shouldn't matter ;).

I can't see what I'm doing after fret 17 unless I've got me specs on. And I can never find me specs.

  • No need to care about the neck heel, you can tap the notes instead

Difficult upper fret access is an inspired piece of design as it means you only venture up there if it's absolutely necessary .
So makes you play with a bit of taste and style. ;)

Don't think John Fogerty or Frankie Miller did much tapping in the tracks we cover. :)
