I think the f-holes look wrong on it. Too big, too small a body.

Reminds me of a Gordon Smith Gypsy 60. But I quite like it personally, good price too with a case included.

  • Something's missing... binding. This guitar *needs* cream binding. Sorry, sorry, it just isn't right without. It would be perfect if it had that. And maybe a Bigsby.

  • Every single guitar in this thread is horrible. The best semi-hollow LP is a CS336 :)

This is true. The problem it seems is that the makers think that if it has an f- hole it needs lots of bling and other unpleasant thing on it as well.
They just need to exercise some restraint.

That's true, but one of the problems with the guitar at the start of the thread is that it has no binding.

I admit most thinline Teles don't have binding either and they look OK…

Maybe it's that Gibson has a flame maple top, no binding and an f-hole all together.

I think it would look better as a plaintop. Quite like it without the neck binding though for some reason

But Gibson really do seem to do a lot of shit just for the sake of it.... this seems to be no exception....

  • My biggest problem with f-holes is the shape f.

    Much prefer alternatives like:

    or even:

I prefer f-holes to all of those

    EDIT

and I don't like the holes in the headstock of the 2nd one. It looks as if they've had to make the headstock longer to accommodate the holes. If they'd not put the holes in the headstock would look shorter and a bit more in proportion. A bit like a Gibson headstock ;) now, I think the usual Gibbo headstock is elegantly proportioned. BTW Epiphone headstocks are way too big (and, by contrast, Tele headstocks are too small).

I know I'm getting way off topic here but to me these are the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen:

    The Epi is/was nicer!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.
