Martin D28 2017

Looks like the new D28 will have forward shifted x bracing and other similar changes as per the D18 back in 2014.

Looks like sensible changes and I'm sure it will do well. I still love my HD28 but looking forward to hearing demos of it.

Sound like interesting changes which I'm sure will go down well. Forward shifted but non-scalloped bracing sounds like an interesting combo...any other models use that to anyone's knowledge?

  • Are they going to increase the nut width to 1 3/4'' as well ?

Yes, according to the spec on the website:

There'd a demo video on there too but it's garbage.

Forward shifted bracing will be an improvement but the 1 3/4" nut would put me off.  I definitely prefer 1 11/16.

Don't like the idea of the Dale Winton fake tan "aging toner" either.  Will look horrible once the guitar is a few years old and the wood has started to darken up naturally.
