I'm selling a tweed deluxe amp to fund an acoustic and before I sell and regret it to buy something expensive I thought I'd ask.  All suggestions greatly apppreciated. For fingerpicking and some strumming

A used Martin D28 or D18 will be yours for around £1200.00, if you want smaller bodied then an OM21 will do the job.

A couple of things spring to mind:

    A higher end Faith
Or a Takamine Santa Fe- I just picked one up for £400 and it's better than my Martin EC00028

A Canadian guitar? Something like a Seagull Maritime or Simon & Patrick Woodland Pro. Similar price new to Faith, no case usually though. I guess the second-hand market is much better for Faith over here though.

I've just got a Simon & Patrick Woodland Pro Folk Mahogany, it's very nice for picking and strumming.

  • I should have put budget. Hopefully the tweed sells for £850 and I'd like to keep some of the cash back rather than spend it all so I'm looking to spend £500. Secondhand would be the better deal

i have a Simon and Patrick dreadnought and wanted something smaller.

    Are these any good?

Looks good to me. Basically a Godin-built guitar with a different name. Also comes in a TRIC case which is nice.

If it's Godin's mini-jumbo size, then it's not much smaller than a dread, just has a smaller waist and I think less depth front to back. Supposed to be a good all-round shape to play judging by reviews of similar Godin guitars.

Walden Supranature are superb guitars for the money. Incredibly stable slim necks and faultless construction.
I've owned one for 11 years and feel no need to replace it.

Or my lovely Japanese Takamine with great electrics and the richness of tone that comes from being 40 years old?

You missed out on one of those Faith "blood moon" trembesi electros on eBay last week, it was £500 BIN I think. It didn't have the best flame but I was tempted.

I have a 00028vs 12 fret which I'am very impressed with.I have played  others on various jam nights which were equally nice. They are  close to a Martin sound.(I've Martins to compare it with)
    Hope this helps.

    Recording king are good.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Check out Auden - very nice guitars. Probably won't hold resale as well as a big name brand, but they sound and play very well
