I'm close to agreeing with you at the top

Although Liverpool could do much worse if they make it to the group stages of cl. Lots of games for a thin squad. Also, coutinho or bust.

Chelsea need to hope morata does well, and fast. If it takes a few months they could draw a few then have to play catch up.

If city don't win, after the money spent, it will be very embarrassing.

Arsenal could score loads, but still struggle to defend at times. Of course there is chance sanchez will go.

As for United, we could win or finish 7th. Nothing surprises me any more ha

I think Burnley will hold on. I don't think united will get top 4 but will at least get to the semis in the CL, arsenal will shit the bed and Wenger will get sacked, top 3 will be tight between spurs, Chelsea and city.

last year the difference between Southampton finishing 8th on 46 points and Watford finishing 17th, just one place above relegation on 40 points was 6 points - So get the big 7 clubs out of the way and all other clubs are relegation candidates - I don't see anyone joining the top 7 - So

7th for Everton and that is almost set in stone - so 1st to 6th is open and a guess - Arsenal have the dreaded Thursday UEFA league to play and to many catch up Sunday matches to contend with so I'm picking them for 6th - Therefore 1-5 is 5th Spurs (having to sell players) - 4th Liverpool (maybe higher if they keep Coutinho) - 3rd Man U - 2nd Chelsea and 1st Man city - just a hunch

Relegation - Swansea - Burnley - Brighton - again just a hunch - but I will look at this again in May

NOw that Mourinho suggested my beloved Hammers can challenge for the title, I'm predicting West Ham in a relegation battle, probably decided on the last, or second-to-last match.
Had the Portugese cock-socket not said that, I'd have said mid-upper table.
Chelski or Man City for the title, United, Liverpool and Spurs to round up the top 5, Arsenal 6th.

Spurs are playing in a new stadium, and haven't strengthened. Chelsea have more football this year, and question marks over the impact of some of their new signing. City have spent fuckloads again, and United look a better bet. Arsenal have made some good signings too.

So will have to go for:

    Bitters
    Chelski
    United
    Arse
    Spurs
    Scum

Huddersfield, Swansea (if they sell Siggy), and Brighton to go down.

Unfortunately my prediction is that my interest in footy will wane even further this year.
    Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow.....

Hudsersfield are my adopted northern team as that's where my gf is from. Shame my team will batter then senseless on day one of the season and start the rot!

They've spent quite wisely though, so who knows.

As for the seaweed going down...I bloody hope so! It's nice that they've come up for a year to give us six points and renew our bragging rights though.

After watching a paltry three live games last year (on the telly)...I'm hoping I can get back into it this year and rekindle my love for it. After the insane amounts of spending done over the summer though I just find it hard to swallow. I would like to look forward to match days again though rather than be horrendously ambivalent.

  • I just can't see Spurs replicating recent success without some late signings..  lack of substantial squad depth has kept the title from us in my opinion. I fear we peaked last year...  I hope I'm proven wrong.

What have Man U done that people are rating them as potential title winners? They were a defensive team with a goal scorer last season, the goal scorer has left/is injured. I'm not seeing any signing that has improved them over last year.

"you never win anything with kids"

But, even with my slightly biased perspective, I can't see it happening either.

United should be six points up on last season regardless on any improvement just because they CAN'T be that wasteful again. Additionally, they took their foot off the gas for the last four/five games (at least) at the end of last season to concenteate on Europe. Add in decent signings in Lukaku and Matic, both with proven PL experience, and they could do even better. A long way behind City and Chelsea, but good enough to be considered top three material.
