MIDI Switch Pedal for Mesa Mark 35

Hey guys,

So I picked up a Mark V:35 Head recently and I love it. Only thing is the footswtich is a four button affair for EQ and Solo 1 & 2 functions ontop of the channel select. It's a bit a large footprint to have on my board considering I only require use of the channel select switch.

I noticed the pedal is powered and interfaced with a MIDI cable so I was wondering if I could get a singular switch pedal to use as a channel select.

I'm not sure what midi channel values Mesa use or what pedal I could acquire (or build) so any help you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Shaun

we sell the MC-6 programmable midi footswitch by Morningstar. Its an awesome bit of kit but the way mesa implement midi means that you need to use something called the RJM mini amp gizmo between the midi pedal and the amp. I do this for my Mesa MKV and it works flawlessly.

Cheers man, I messaged Mesa and they notified me the amp doesn't work by conventional MIDI so I'd need a box as you suggested. I'll just deal with the footswitch in that case.

I used G Lab mac 4.4 with my express 5:50.
Picked it up second hand for 40 quid, easy to use and small enough to attach to the back of the head or stick it on the pedalboard.

  • There is the smallest midi solution for V:35 and other Mesa Boogie at all

I have the V35 and the footswitch control is a bit frustrating as I wanted to control via another pedal as the Boogie one is a bit hefty

  • The footswitch isn't midi but uses the same connector, I'm not sure what the Pinout is but I'm sure Mesa could tell you.

You could make your own footswitch using the custom connector.

    2) Channel
    3) Solo
    4) EQ
    5) EQ Led
    SH) 0V (ground)

I did see that, but some people seemed to disagree with it.

I have tested it and my interfaces work on that pinout
