There's lots of fast, chicken picking stuff but some of the more simple licks can crossover into rock styles and really spice up a standard pentatonic.
Check out my thread 'A Observation: Most of you only know minor pentatonix in Drop Tunings' for more info...

Buy a more expensive guitar
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
You need to WANT to explore other sounds/textures/styles, Improving is thorough dedication and commitment and willingness to explore.
Clapton was already a virtuoso when he met up with Kossof and asked how he got that vibrato sound?? You'd think he would have already sussed that at his level... Same when he met Hendrix - he nearly through the towel in when he realised was a whole other dimension to have to learn all over... Listen to stuff outside your zone and analyse in your head and then set yourself targets to achieve within your setup. Don't buy new stuff thinking this is what's needed - is just your ears and fingers required and some late nights...
Ideally from someone who says "I don't give a shit what style you like when you are enjoying yourself. I am here to teach you the subject of music. This is academic study. What you do with it on your own time is art. They are not the same."
Anyone who offers "Rock lessons" or "Jazz lessons" or "Technique lessons" should be flayed alive on a gun carriage.
