Does it have to be just one guitar or can I buy 30 Epiphone Les Paul SLs? Hypothetically, like...

Assuming that it was a buy-it-now question, and not allowing for custom builds, then I reckon I would go for a McCarty 594.
Because I like the look/sound of them, and having owned a couple of PRS's, I'd be happy enough with their quality control.

PRS DGT in Black Gold Burst.....well because the DGT is a great design and Black Gold Burst looks fantastic.

Maybe an original Steinberger. (Alternatively, one of the newer alternatives in that vein, like a Strandberg*)

I would buy a birth year Fender.

Would have to be a Tele Deluxe.

I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

  • Probably an SG Standard and have money left over.
I've already got the holy trinity plus a PRS, so my life would be complete with an SG. Except I'd probably then want a 335.
    It's not a competition.

That sounded nice, when I looked it up nice enough but not what I'd imagined from the name.

Looks like I could get a Trussart Steel O Matic for £2999 so that and probably some buyer's regret.

Either a) a Knaggs Choptank - the trem version. I'd look into the hollowbody version but I don't think it's under £3k - but the solid version is I think. Or b) a Novo Serus T with a Bigsby. This would be a custom order I think but should come in right around £3k.

Well yes, it is a bit more brown than the name suggests.

I can't imagine spending that much on an electric guitar.  I'd get a 2nd hand G&L Bluesboy USA probably and keep the change.

Half a half-decent cello. Or a fairly good bow.

It's interesting we've had a couple of mention for G&L... my second preference was going to be something from them. Possibly an ASAT special (I fancy the pickups) with one of their wide neck options...

Get a secondhand USA ASAT and spend £100-150 less on alcohol. You'll thank me when you sober up.
