The inbuilt ones in Cubase and logic are perfectly sufficient for me

I don't like the Logic one, it's not as quick to track low notes as my Axe FX tuner or TU3.

    I have Cubase 9 Pro and the tuner isn't 100% accurate ..

Neither am I ... my old Strat is a bugger to tune .. sounds ace though.

  • So why do you need a tuner in a DAW? Not being an arse, just not a big recorderer so thought you would just tune before recording?

It is useful when you're recording DI, with plugin amp sims.

Ideally you check your tuning before every take, so if it's as good as the pedal then it's totally worth buying at $9.99 as it'll get used a lot

    ^^

    This.

If I'm recording I tend to leave my guitar plugged into my audio interface .. I have an ear for an out of tune guitar so I frequently check and retune.

If you want to save the money, use GTune instead.
