I believe he'd been in hospital for a fair while, but terribly sad to have just heard this great musician has died. An important, innovative and original jazz guitarist, influential, but with a distinctive sound of his own.

Man! That's another kick in the guts
He was such a great innovative player.  I always thought that Wayne Krantz was influenced by him. although he'd probably not admit it.
Like Wes and Jim Mullen he was another great exponent of the ol' thumb method.

I know, we've lost too many lately, Loeb, Holdsworth of course...

This is sad news. I had the good fortune to see him playing about 5 years ago. It was a memorable gig.
