I believe he'd been in hospital for a fair while, but terribly sad to have just heard this great musician has died. An important, innovative and original jazz guitarist, influential, but with a distinctive sound of his own. :(

    He was such a great innovative player.  I always thought that Wayne Krantz was influenced by him. although he'd probably not admit it.
    Like Wes and Jim Mullen he was another great exponent of the ol' thumb method.

    This is sad news. I had the good fortune to see him playing about 5 years ago. It was a memorable gig.
