Best 2 channel overdrive/distortion pedal

preston61preston61 Frets: 690
Can be an overdrive channel with a boost, two different flavours of overdrive, an overdrive distortion combination, or any other variable.

There's no great reason behind it, I'm just interested to hear what people's opinions are.

    Top 3 for me are:
    1 - Box of Rock
2 - Carl martin plexitone (cheeky 3 button choice)
    3 - King of Tone

Bogner Red / Blue worth a look.

G2D Cream Tone is a new fav of mine for lovely mild OD with a post gain boost.

  • The Fulltone GT500 is rather good in a Pearl Jam kinda way.

I always find I prefer separates though

    Box of Rock is ace.
I like the King of Tone but i think it's very amp dependent. Really needs a Blackface to sound it's best for me.
The Visual Sound Double Trouble is about as good as 2-Screamers-in-a-box gets.
The Mosfet Blackstone and Zvex Super Duper are really more two boosts in a box, but both very nice. I know the Blackstone is supposed to be an OD, but you have to hit the strings so hard to get any gain, I actually think the Super Duper is a bit dirtier.

I have a Pete Cornish SS3/G2 Duplex- quite unbeatable IMO.

Another that's a beauty is the Kingsley Jester, but it's hellish powerful

Overdrive and boost, with voice selection and you can place the boost before or after the drive, and use either independently.

Bogner Red is my current main squeeze.

The Jekyll and Hyde is also good, but I prefer pedals with a boost bode rather than the 2 pedals in one box type.
Box of Rock is great, but I never used the boost.
    I wasn't knocked out by the GT500
The Fulldrive II is good, but it's essentially an SD1 type with a gain boost.

    Wampler SLOstortion.

Soldano type drives with a very nice clean boost.

Forgot about that - great pedals.
Also, Les Lius is a rhythm guitar machine.

GT500 is good.  It's the only double pedal I have left.

I've just sold my FDII.  As @monquixote said, It's not really 2 channel.

+1- more choice and if one breaks I still have one working pedal. I suppose if I needed to save space on a pedalboard (or power supply places) then a 2-in-1 might make sense.

    What about the Jemini?

  • Interesting mix of pedals here. I have a wampler hotwired and is a fantastic mix of great crunchy rhythm on channel one and meaty distortion on channel 2. Put them together and what have got, bibbity bobbitty boo, a killer solo tone. Sure if you've got space for 2 pedals then great for you, do it.
