[NPD] RC-30 (and surprise Space Echo)

JEPBLEPJEPBLEP Frets: 188
New pedal day. Got a Boss RC-30 Loop Station. First looper pedal. First Boss pedal, too. Amazed by the build quality. Any advice on where to place it? General consensus seems to be last thing in the signal chain?

But also - as subtly alluded to by @TimmyO - took delivery of a Roland Space Echo RE-201.

General wisdom dictates the delay back into the loop station before going into the amp right? ... Need new cables.

Not sure the Space Echo qualifies as a pedal. It's massive.
    A thing of beauty though.

  • Deciding where to put the looper depends entirely on how you want to use it. So you may want to put it after all of your effects so that the sound that is looped has effects on it.

However, looping stuff before effects can be loads of fun. Because then when you add effects you're adding them to everything...

    Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

I'm a huge fan of the Boss Re-20 so I dread to think how much fun an original would be.

Yes, it's massive (bigger than the JTM-1 head). And super fun indeed - adds a little wizzz to the room when it's on, and so much mojo through it's little backlit VU window.

@UnclePsychosis - thanks for the tip. Trying to play with different positions - getting it behind the Space Echo is a bit of a ball ache due to the longer leads required going back up and down, but hey.

    Chuffed to bits!

  • I tend to put my Looper last in the FX loop, so I can loop dirty or clean stuff and still play something else over the top. If I'm using an amp without a loop it goes last in the chain. Enjoy!

Are you suffering from local subsidence?

Thanks @Moss - it's one of the other financial sinkholes in life.

@Legionreturns - cheers! Neither of my amps have a dedicated loop, so somewhere up the chain, it is!
