..... and find that your wife has used your prized possession as a COASTER???

https://i.imgur.com/sBDHgxB.jpg

I was lost for words. I jokingly said "wft" to her, to which she said "aw, did it leave a ring?"

I think I need to build my workshop and get the amp out of the living room ASAP!

  • That's nothing. My cats use mine to clean their arses on

I hope your wife hasn't done that!

My family are banned from the tiny spare bedroom where my gear lives. Anyone foolish enough to break the rules is exiled to the garage for the night.

@Legionreturns no thankfully only the mutt cleans herself that way. I believe my wife and kids are fully house trained :)

The amp sits in the living room and the kids have been well warned to stay away from it. I was pretty annoyed when I saw this tbh but I've got nowhere else to keep the amp until my workshop/showroom is sorted...

That could take a while :(

A singer in a band I used to be in used my hardwood cab MkIII Boogie as a beer mat on a gig once. Bastard....

The combination of amps with 'beer traps' on top and containers of liquid makes me worry…

    Beer traps are bad.

I think you need another amp, without a beer trap, to put on top of that one to protect it.

Yes the grill on the top is a real issue for me. Tbh, for all I get to use the amp these days I'd be as well moving it to my mum n laws house for safe keeping.

@ICBM I agree, although I was contemplating a Tweed like combo for 6V6 cleans. I doubt that I'll be able to get an amp in the near future to set on top of this one.

What on Earth were you doing gigging with that? Don't you know those belong on a proper amp stand in your front room, next to your 10-top PRS, and underneath your framed dental and law school diplomas?

    :)

I see it slightly differently - she needs to get the furniture out of your music room ASAP!

You Sir, are a LEGEND :)

I shall put that to her after I've packed my emergency overnight bag.

Have you done this with your hot drink mug to something else in the house?
Is it something related to that?

It's harsh but it really got your attention, maybe there's a hidden Wife message in there?
It's exactly what Natasha would do to me if she wanted to prove that point.

Well I *think* my only crime today was spending 2 hours prepping bodies to spray this morning followed by 4 hours spraying this afternoon. I'm not sure if that warrants (haha, bad pun - the mug is covered in pictures of Jani Lane) this crime.

@sassafras I'm the breadwinner and she's the mother of my 3 children.

But, that is a vintage Marshall....

I had a former singer's twin brother rock up to a rehearsal (he wasn't in the band!) and cut a line and snorted it off my Marshall head - guess it was on his bucket list?

This reminds me of a story I've told before. Apologies for the repetition, but it seems apt.

I went a Robben Ford clinic a while back, hosted by Andertons (not the most recent one). Robben Ford walked on stage and put a glass of water on top of his Dumble. There was a gasp from the audience. He just shrugged and said Howard would fix it for him if anything happened.
    It's not a competition.

    A glass of water?
    What self-respecting musician drinks water?
Whisky or at the very least a pint of beer.
