Teeny tiny valve amp, what's good?

Whatever happens it seems I can't really get on with non-valve amps. I'm after the smallest size possible to keep in the living room. Any suggestions?

It is a head though - the internal speaker is not meant for serious use - so you will need a cab of some sort, which makes it somewhat less teeny.

You might as well just accept that you're as well buying a Marshall stack. Takes up the same footprint as a 2 x 12... only, it's taller

Teeny tiny? Smallest possible? 

Never heard anything good about the anniversary series tbh, although I wouldn't say no if I saw one cheap. SL5 is just too big for what I'm after.

If it's going on a shelf, does it then need front-mounted controls? That might restrict the choice a lot since the fashion seems to have gone back to top-mounted...

The 1W Marshalls are at least OK for that.

Burgera V5. 1 x 8" valve combo. Front mounted controls.

Try a Marshall CODE 25. Not valve but if you set it up right (basically keep the gate as low as possible) it can respond like one and sound like one especially on the clean to just breaking up tones.

How much are you willing to sacrifice to have a teeny tiny amp?

Once my JMP is out of my living room I'll probably replace it with the likes of a THR or some sort of modelling amp so that I don't have cables everywhere from pedals. 

What sort of music do you play?

All valve, even the rectifier, chassis mounted valve holders and point to point. They even seem to come with decent valves.

I've been seeing these on eBay - the 2204 heads look very tempting considering the size. Just wondering how close they actually get to the Marshall sound?
