Very sad. I saw some footage and he didn't look well and still relatively young, too.

As always, the wonderful music lives on and I know Steely Dan have done some shows without him so it's quite likely Fagen/they could continue, even if it's not quite the same.

Just heard - I'm glad I've seen them live once - would have loved to see them again but sadly that won't happen now - Glad I have so many great tracks to listen to them again and again and again - I can only thank them both for what they have recorded and such great tracks will never die - RIP Walter

    Very Sad News indeed.

Steely Dan formed the spine of my music listening from my early days to today. One of my great regrets is that I didn't see Walter & Donald at the Free Trade Hall Manchester back in the 70's.

Made up for it in their second flush in the 90's.

Although I probably falsely attributed a great deal of wonderful guitar breaks to Walter (which then turned out to be Larry Carlton et al), he had a wonderful laconic songwriting style.

    Will - Be - Missed.

    Amen Walter

    I've always loved the Dan.

  • Shocking news. He had been ill and missed two big shows on the East and West coasts.  I think Larry Carlton stood in.
I was hoping to catch them at the Bluesfest this October.

    RIP Walter
