The B7K in particular is a pretty big deal as the units are otherwise pretty guitar focussed. Hopefully if this is well received there'll be a few more bits of bass gear over time

I really hope so. I think the B7K is a really good step in the right direction. 

Super excited about the DMM. I've got a list as long as my arm for effects and it very much looks like their focus is slowly but surely moving to effects...there can't be many more amps, can there!!!

The main reason the thing is so good is how obsessed he is with getting it good. So I'm not ungreatful at all for all the amp models - I just think switching focus towards bass and some effects is a good strategy now.

It most likely is a response to Helix offering so much for the bass player, if the competition keeps both manufacturers on their toes that's great news for the end-user.

Exactly.

People had requested the B7K long before the Helix did one. And the Helix not only did the B7K but a whole range of other cool bass stuff too, and did it well.

I've done a comparison - the Helix one is good but it's a bit more polite than the real pedals I have (B3K and B7KU). I think the character is recognisable though and I like the sound. Just for outright metallic grind the real pedal cuts a bit more aggressively - this may change in future updates though but as I don't own Helix Native that's my impression as things are now. Axe FX amps and drives have changed over time

To be honest I think some of the Fractal models do similar things - recognisable character but not quite the same as the real things I've owned. But really I don't think it matters if it sounds good, and the Helix bass stuff sounds good to me

Nice, looks like he's reworked the motor drive into a speaker compression algo. And the DMM has been improved already. Given the time between his posts, I'm curiously sceptical about improvements. Am looking forward to trying it out, see if I can get a really nice edge of oscillation, similar to how I used to use my old DMM.
