I'm thinking of ordering a Code 25 for my mate as a Christmas present but am unsure wether they're much cop or not? Would it make a good gift or are they all hype? I don't want to end up giving him a paper weight!
Tomorrow will be a good day.

  • I've played on one belonging to @alnico that I was quite impressed with.

Big sound for such a small amp as well, I've seriously considered picking one up.
You are the dreamer, and the dream...

That's a pretty good recommendation, thank you for the link. I thought I'd better buy early in case they're hard to get nearer the time.

Sorry about that, do you still want it wrapped?  ;)
I've just got to not give in to temptation and open it to try it out!

  • Just got one today
My first amp and went with it over a DSL5. I know the DSL would be a better amp long term but as im just learning i thought the ability to partly mimic various amps would let me find 'my sound' while learning and a few months down the line go get a better amp.

Doing the same with guitars. Started with a Vintage V100 AFD and will probably get a few more Vintage made types to see what i prefer before fully commiting to a expensive guitar

^good choice! I think I'd take a Code over a DSL5 tbh. You'll get much more usable tones at home and like you say you can experiment to find out which one you want if/when you're looking to go up to the real deal.
