Decent Bass Kits in UK

Hi all,

I've got a craving for both a bass guitar and a DIY project so thought I might combine the two.

However, I lack tools like a router, and my woodworking skills are pretty basic. As such I'd be interested in purchasing a kit of some sort to work from. I previously bought a Saga LP kit which was ok for learning but the end result was less than stellar.

Is anyone able to recommend a source of reasonably good bass kits in the UK, or that ships to the UK without high shipping fees? I don't mind if there's a likelihood I'll have to upgrade some hardware, the main thing I'm after is decent quality wood with accurate pre-drilled holes

My budget is £150-200.

@TTony Yeah I'm seriously considering one of those and have been watching that thread.

Any idea what the quality is like?

A little out of the box, but here goes, why not buy an unfinished body from Guitarbuild and a used Fender style bass  neck from here or ebay or whatever, then gather the rest of the parts to suit....body is about £110, a Squier neck perhaps, might be a bit over budget but much better quality....

I'm waiting for new strings. As soon as they arrive I'll do a review of the kit on my build thread.
