According to the Complete Beatles Recording Sessions by Mark Lewisohn, yes he did.

I think Ringo gets judged harshly these days because we judge him by the standards of modern drum production. But not many drummers can sit behind a drum kit and sound the way he did into a single valve mic suspended over the kit.

Very sadly indeed, it seems that Virgil Howe, Steve Howe's second son and drummer with Little Barrie and others, passed away a couple of days ago. Aged just 41.

Bonamassa's first band, Bloodline featured personnel who had famous dad's:-

Surprised no one has mentioned Hank III son of Hank Williams Jnr who is son of Hank Williams. 
Or Jason Scheff of Chicago, son of Jerry Scheff who played bass for Elvis Presley's band throughout 70's.

I think a recent version of the Zombies had the son of bassist Jim Rodford (ex-Argent and, I think The Kinks as well) on drums.

I saw that. Steve has cancelled the rest of the current Yes tour, unsurprisingly.

Billie Joe Shaver ( country singer/ songwriter - written for Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings,etc) had his son Eddy on guitar in his band ( he died of an overdose so it might not have been the happiest family). Eddy was a multi instrumentalist with a neat line in blues guitar.
